Letter to NY Governor Hochul

The American Acupuncture Association is urgently requesting that New York Governor Kathy Hochul sign bill A622C/S5955B into law. This bipartisan legislation aims to expand insurance coverage for licensed acupuncture services, effectively establishing New York's first Acupuncture Insurance Law. The bill provides a crucial, non-pharmacological alternative to prescription opioids for pain management. Additionally, integrating acupuncture into standard insurance frameworks will lower long-term state healthcare costs and improve health equity by removing financial barriers for under-served communities.
